Love thy house

So while everyone who is vaxed was using their Singapore Rediscover Vouchers enjoying staycations (and going overseas via VTL) during COVID, me the unvaxed could only stay at home. I guess I'm lucky that I am quite the zhai 宅 type so I wasn't really psychologically affected by it. #piscespersonality perhaps? But on top of that, my hubs is a really good homemaker. My room configuration has probably already changed 3 or 4 times... The living room has changed umpteen times already because the furniture is more minimal and less heavy. But when my hubs first suggested moving our queen-sized STORAGE bed which is already full of stuff, I thought he was nuts. And it's so troublesome!

But somehow the hubs is not afraid of trouble. Maybe because he has the strength to do it and he is motivated by how the new arrangement would look like so one day when I was feeling upset, he rearranged our room when I was still at work to surprise me. (He believes that having a clean house would make one feel happier.)

So this was how our room looked like originally (before our bed came):

We both like the colour pink (yeah real men love pink ahaha) so our master bedroom had one pink wall. It was based on some interior design inspiration that my hubs found online.

Then when our bed came, this was the first arrangement:

And you know with life...it got messy...Look at the mess on the floor and on the drawer table...And I am the mess on the bed. Yep we added a small black display shelf beside the bed.

Then the hubs decided he wanted to turn the whole bed around (this was the one he surprised me with):

Actually I really liked this orientation already because it made the room feel like a cozy cottage. You can't really see the whole room (because I wasn't thinking of blogging when I took this photo), but there is a clothes ladder to the left of the photo (it's out of the pic) which my hubs hates because I put so many clothes on it so he decided to change the configuration AGAIN. At first he made the bed face the window, but that meant our feet were towards South which isn't good Fengshui (haha) so he turned the bed around so that our feet faced North. But I didn't like it because half the window was covered and it would be a hassle to close the windows if it started raining. So he did this instead:

As you can see, these modifications occurred over a period of time...In the cat photo, you can see my hospital bag behind the stroller (I was in my third trimester).

This is my favourite configuration - it feels cozy yet spacious at the same time! You can't see our cupboards in this photo but it's to the right of the photo, and the clothes ladder that my hubs hates is hidden towards the right of the cot. I don't think any other configuration can beat this, but my hubs may prove me wrong again, like how I loved the previous configuration but he surprised me with this one.

My hubs said I should be super thankful to him. But I told him I should be thankful to myself for marrying him hahaha. And I don't need any staycation, home is where I love to be hehe.

Also some configurations of our soft toys:

I got rid of most of these...no idea where the hubs got them from (except for the right-most one, which I also kept).

Now we have these:

Haha from less became more.

TTFN!~
