The Claw-machine Chapter

Image
So I did this 4-day claw machine job and thought how funny life is. We, the employees who placed lucky draw prizes in the claw machine, literally had total control over the customers' luck. Not that we care who gets it, but if friends came, we totally could have helped them get the prize they wanted. But of course that's expected. People do that all the time. I actually thought about how similar it is to life. On the first day we placed so many good prizes in the machine. The odds of getting a good prize was more than 50 percent. But at dinner time Management decided we had given out too many good prizes so we had to stop the machines just to take out all the remaining ones. (It was such a hassle lol.) There was literally 0% chance of winning. Yet people were still quite happy when they got a cash voucher, even though it meant they'd have to spend more money. And that's like life, when people in power can change your fate without you even realising it. But maybe i

So what did you think of Anna's coming out video? Did it make you question your sexuality in any way? I think it's healthy to question things once in awhile. I questioned, because my guy-girl relationships never levelled up. I questioned, because after JC I didn't have crushes/eye-candies anymore. I questioned, because even when I went out with someone I liked, I realised we couldn't really clique. The sparks died out. Maybe I was a panda stuck in a human body? It was probably in the second or third year of Uni when I found out about pansexualism. Most people don't know what pansexualism means. "Pan" means "all", so basically it means regardless of gender you have the capability to love anyone. I felt like I could relate to pansexuals. I wasn't into people just because of their appearance or curiosity of their genitalia. I was into talent. I was into confidence. I was into generosity. You will find many more things you never realised y

Gender. I've actually repeatedly thought about this topic for several years. Not because I'm confused about my own gender. Not because it's a huge issue in my life. But because it's a concept that intrigues me. Like a song that you like for no reason. It's just a song that you like. It somehow matches your frequency. It suits your personality. There are just things that happen for reasons that aren't so scientific. Well I guess you could analyse things like these, but from the personal point of view, there is no motive. Let's start from the very beginning. When I was 17 or 18, a classmate asked me, "Do you think gender is a social construct or inborn?" At that time, my mind worked in very straightforward, rigid ways. By that time I think I had read a Nature article on homosexuality and chromosomes. Apparently they found differences in the chromosomes of homosexuals and heterosexuals. Of course gay people were born gay and straight people were bor

Vegan Dunkin Donuts (Singapore)

Everytime my significant other comes to visit me, I start thinking of all the junk food that I want to indulge in with him muahahaha. I usually eat at home, so eating out is more for special occasions. All thanks to cqveggiefinds (if u're looking to eat vegan in Singapore, go check out her insta and fb), I found out that I can get vegan donuts at Dunkin Donuts! I had a hard time Googling this info so I decided to just record the vegan flavours in my blog. Many thanks to cqveggiefinds for getting this info- I got them from her facebook page. Vegan Dunkin Donuts: Glazed Sugar raised Bavarian Strawberry filled Choc Pudding Cinnamon Roll You have to check out how they look in Dunkin Donuts' website, so tempting omg. I've put the link down below. You have to click on the 'shell donuts' tab as well to see some of the vegan flavours. It's quite amazing that the Bavarian and Choc Pudding flavours are vegan. Definitely wanna try those since I love cream-filled

Undeveloped vs Developed

You know how when we surf the net we're always jumping from one topic to the other? Like one moment you're nosing about Jade Rasif's 7 months pregnant news and "rejected marriage proposal but kept the ring" instastory and then the next you're watching Asian Boss interviewing North Korean defectors. Confessions of what I've been doing on the net haha. But anyway I got really affected when I watched Asian Boss (I'll put the links below) so I decided to blog about it. So as most people know, North Korea is a communist country. And there are definitely many negative connotations to that. It's run by a dictatorship, and your communications are tapped into. Big Brother is always watching your every move. One wrong move and you're executed. Or maybe your family is executed as well. No freedom. Poverty. Starvation. Sounds like a really grim and sad place. When I think of North Korea, I imagine the place to be grey. Like literally I think of run-dow

Rules and Regulations

Watched Silence of the Lambs last night and I have to say Anthony Hopkin's acting was dope! But still can't really understand why it's rated higher than Fight Club as a psychological thriller. Maybe because of the authenticity as compared to Fight Club? But okay that's not really the point of why I decided to write something today. Since Silence of the Lambs is a criminal investigations film, it made me think about why rules and regulations are set in general. In the film the antagonist was first portrayed as transsexual, but later on Dr Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) tells us he is not really transsexual but just hates himself and wants to change his appearance as much as possible. Yet there's a scene of him dancing in front of the mirror in his self-sewn women's skin outfit- doesn't that sound like a lot of girls who opt for plastic surgery or cover themselves in thick make up? (Yes I know there are girls who don't hate themselves/ their appearance and still
