7 Reasons why I love you so much

I've written about our bad times, and I've written about our good times. But now I wanna list down the reasons I love you, so that I can read it and remind myself during the times I feel like I hate you. Haha.

1. You have the same tastebuds as me. For some reason, you love the same things I love to eat. And that's really not easy to come by because you are Indian and I'm Chinese, and on top of that I'm vegan. You never used to drink the broth produced from boiling cauliflower and potatoes for aloo gobhi, but that was because you never tried it before you met me, and you didn't think it would taste good. But you saw me drinking it and finally gave it a try, and loved it. You gave up dairy, but loved the alternatives I chose, Ikea ice-cream, smoocht ice-cream, V soy, Nutellex, green smoothie with v soy etc. In fact you always love the same parts of the foods we love- the cone of the ikea ice-cream, the crust of our cashew cheesecakes... And you love soft mushy foods just like me. The way to a woman's heart is by her stomach, and you've proven to be the parasite of mine (肚子里的蛔虫).

2. You're a romantic. We don't exactly celebrate special days, but you are the one to remember our special dates and give me tiny surprises. These are not my favourite surprises though. My favorite surprises are your silly words and photo captions and comments that come out of the blue, and they are just tooooo mushy yet so cute and hilarious. I love that romance is in your blood, and didn't stop at our scooty rides in the winter himalayas.

3. Even though you are a romantic, your love language is actually acts of service. (Instead of physical touch.) Everytime after we fight, the house will suddenly become very clean and have a new arrangement, and food will definitely be ready when I come home with a black face from work. You're good at every love language, but you're a master when it comes to acts of service. I don't enjoy fighting, but the aftermath is pretty neat.

4. You have the puffiest lips. Love is not just about physical attraction, but love without physical attraction is just friendship. Everyone loves your eyes, but I've told you time and time again, my favourite part is your lips. (Your hairy, ab-less belly is probably in second place.)

5. You care about health as much as I do. But you still enjoy cheat days on which we drink whisky and eat bhujia and bread pakoda. Green smoothies and B12, boiled veggies and Chinese herbal soup - you drink/eat them without complaint, in fact you love some of them and ask for them when I've been lazy in making them. You even get me to make green smoothies for my parents, and help to bring it to them.

6. You taught me to put in time and effort in everything I do. Actually this mainly applies to cooking, because you really take super long to cook certain things. But you are the better chef and I realized it's because you're so patient with food. Only for spinach I made you shorten the time because overcooked spinach is not only less tasty but has fewer nutrients left. Now your spinach curry is world class.

7. You help me save more money and earn even more. And this is because you have big plans for our future. Even though some of them are slightly daunting because I still don't know how to go about them, they're plans that make me feel excited and motivated to work hard. You've stopped me from making impulse buys and made me see how ridiculous some of my decisions are. (But I still want that mirror in our house.) Your math ain't great, but good enough to increase savings and earnings and reduce losses. You remind me that the same happiness can come from something that costs much less.

I stopped at 7 because Miley Cyrus only listed 7 things and 7 is a lucky number. There are so many other things about you that I adore, but some are for me to keep and not to share, while others are little nuances in your daily actions.
