Mr Robot (No spoilers)

In my previous post I talked about watching a US TV series called Mr Robot. Apparently it inspired me to pick up a little programming. But I also wanted to write about how intriguing it is. I was drawn to it because I watched Bohemian Rhapsody and I was quite impressed by Rami Malek's acting so I dug around the Internet webs for Mr Robot which Malek starred in as well. Ratings were great, Malek won an Emmy for his role in Mr Robot, I like psychological thrillers so I thought why not.

It's quite difficult to find online even with a VPN, and if you want to do it legally you'd have to pay to watch. Obviously I'm not going to tell you what I did, but if you do find it for free then I applaud you for bearing with the advertisements and pop-ups HAHA.

The whole series is 4 seasons long and the last season is only going to be aired next year so if you don't like pausing halfway then I suggest you wait till everything is out. First season was great because it satisfied my cravings for those programming spectacles. I really love the layout and font of programming systems. And I love the sound of a keyboard. Also I found out last night that the hacking going on in the show is pretty legit. See this link. Second season was kind of disappointing though because it confused me quite a bit and there were just some things I didn't quite understand. I found myself fast-forwarding at some parts. Oops. Third season got pretty dark but it solved quite a few of the questions floating in my head. I really wasn't expecting it to get so dark though!

See what I mean, I'm waiting oh so patiently for the fourth and last season.

Besides socially awkward Elliot Alderson (Malek) in that haircut and hoodie reminding me of a bestie, I've never watched a show like this. It squeezed so many current themes that I felt slightly overwhelmed, which is why I decided to write a post about it just to let it all out. There were themes like privacy protection (obviously since Malek was playing the role of a hacker), mental disorders, LGBTQ+, religion, political conspiracies (this is a huge lump of many sub-themes), marriage, bio-hacking, abortion, parental abuse, friendship and manipulation, company politics, revenge, environmental issues, income disparity, advertisement etc. My gosh it's almost impossible to list everything! And in the series they're not discreet at all. They're right smack in your face. Be prepared to get uncomfortable or confused or in disbelief if you choose to watch it.
